Groundswell Giving Cloud Update

This post is to inform users of an important infrastructure update. Groundswell is transitioning our backend cloud environment from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This migration is designed to support our long-term goals for improved performance, resilience, and access to advanced technologies.

Key benefits of this transition for our customers include:

  • Smoother product releases and platform improvements, with more predictable rollouts and reduced risk of downtime
  • Access to newer cloud-native technologies, including AI-driven enhancements powered by Google’s Gemini AI models
  • Stronger scalability and future readiness for features that require modern data and analytics capabilities
  • Enhanced global availability, redundancy, and performance
  • Continued adherence to data privacy and security standards, including GDPR, SOC2

To ensure a seamless migration, Groundswell has developed a robust contingency plan. We will continue to operate our AWS infrastructure independently and in parallel for at least one full month after the migration begins. All critical databases will be fully backed up before, during, and after each migration phase, ensuring no data loss under any scenario. Additionally, the migration will be staged in increments to allow for system testing and validation throughout the process.

We do not expect any disruption to client services, data, or account access. However, if you notice anything unusual, such as performance delays or data inconsistencies, we encourage you to contact the Groundswell support team right away:

Email: support@groundswell.io
Phone: +1 (844) 914-3679 (Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 9 PM ET)

All data remains encrypted in transit and at rest. We maintain full compliance with all applicable data protection regulations, including the GDPR/CCPA, as well as SOC 2 Type II.

Groundswell clients are not required to take any action. The migration will occur behind the scenes over the next 30 days, and any updates will be communicated through email and our status page: https://status.groundswell.io
